I am flying this from HKG-JFK in Dec.
Just want to know what are people's recommendations for seat selection in J Class?
I normally like Row 11AC because of the extra stowage above the PTV.

I would like the same advice as well. I am traveling J class JFK-HKG nonstop the end of October and presently assigned to 12H-K. Any other recommendations as well?
Unfortunately, I have been spoiled with F the last few trips on the one stop 747 to HKG :(

I recently did 11A JFK-HKG nonstop. It was quite nice. There is a little ledge that was about 3-6 inches deep and about 6-8 inches in width from the wall just above the screen which spanned across both 11A and 11C, which was nice. It allowed me to put newspapers, kits, and other things up there, but they made sure there was nothing there during take-off/landing.
No noise from galley there. Not much traffic in between the curtain. I could not see into the F cabin at all though when the curtain was closed and snapped "shut"
Since I was in the very first row I did not see much of the rest to the full cabin, so I did feel a bit secluded (which I like), but never cramped/claustrophobic (spelling?)
You for sure need to have seat maet if in a window sit up. It was hard for me being tall to get out without bumping my seatmate. In combination of the low dropping ceiling, and the bulkhead wall etc.... It was also nice to push my hand baggage a bit across the F/J overhead luggage line and inot the "F compartment" as there is no partition in the racks.
Food/beverage service always began with me.
Good Luck!

Thanks, so it seems the 346 is similar to the 34C and 332. 11AC are my favourite seats (the added storage, getting served first, get off first!) Also thanks for confirming that the Overhead locker does go into the F Cabin, as a certain FT member here seems to disagree!
I will try and get these seats ( Although might not be available)
Also just want to check, do they have the Overhead Lockers in the middle lot as well ( I presume so Unlike the 34C and the 346 has a lot more J seats and the side lockers might not be enough.)

There were overhead lockers for the center seats/middle lot. I recall people getting up and down in the middle of the flight to reach to them. And the people in row 11 (of the middle lot) were particulary noisy in slamming them shut and opening them up as well. But I soon lost interest. Enjoy your flight.

 There always have been middle overhead lockers in J on the 34C. The side lockers are only in Airbus F (to store duvets) and there aren't any middle overhead lockers in Airbus F on any fleet type (34C, 333, 346).

Are you sure??
Because I remember from the last time I travelled from SYD-HKG (on a 34C) there were NO middle locker. The ceiling was really high (same as F Class).
(that is the first half of the J Cabin)
ANyway, they might've upgraded it recently?
I know on 333 the middle row does have the locker.
Yes there are middle lockers in the center seats going down the centre aisle seats.
