Las Vegas - Anyone ever stay at the Boardwalk on The Strip?

I'm visting LAS over the Christmas holiday and I booked a Tower View room at the Boardwalk on The Strip. The price is right and I'll be next door at the Monte Carlo playing poker most of the time.

Just curious if anyone has stayed at the Boardwalk before and, if so, what your thoughts are. I've already been pleased with their customer services as I booked the rooms before they went on special. I called and the hotel changed my reservation to reflect the new, lower rates.

I've been told it's on the dumpy side. But if you plan on spending your waking hours elsewhere, it should work fine for you.

It is a dump, but the rooms are clean.

I'm curious, why would you choose the Monte Carlo to play poker?
