Frontier Airlines EarlyReturns - 30 Minute Connect in DEN

I am considering booking a flight on F9 PHX-DEN-ANC for a cruise in July 2005. Can't beat the price. I am concerned about connection times. I checked on the website and found that anything over 25 minutes in DEN is a valid connection.

I need to connect to flight 888 DEN-ANC that leaves at 6:40 PM.

My two choices PHX-DEN is to take Flt. 858 that arrives at 6:10 PM with only a 30 minute connection time. The alternative is Flt. 674 that arrives at 4:00 PM with a 2 hour, 40 minute layover.

My first thought is to go with the short connection, but I would like to know if I am taking a risk with such a short connection by asking those of you who have more experience with F9 in DEN.

I think it should be fine, and F9 is very efficient in terms of ground handling and without a doubt, 30 minutes are more than enough... However, the ATC at PHX can be pretty heavy and if you are heading to a cruise, I will do the safer thing. DEN can be quite boring for two hours and forty minutes... but since you are doing a cruise, it is better to be safe than sorry... There are a number of restaurants in the terminal... maybe you can get a nice dinner, especially F9 does not serve meals, but only light meals of wraps and chips on your longer flight onto ANC.

We are flying out 6 days before the cruise. Meeting the in-laws (flying DL) in ANC. They arrive 20 minutes before the F9 flight arrives.

I agree with Carfield. If the arrival time was cutting it close to some event, I'd say take the earlier flight and be safe. But since that's not a consideration, you should be fine with the shorter connection. Your inbound and outbound flight should both be at Terminal A, so the time to walk from one gate to the next will be negligible. (Even if you had to switch terminals, I find the trains between terminals fairly quick.) And, for the most part, I have found Frontier flights to be mostly on time.
