Yes, but you do have to keep in mind that with Hilton you double-dip with miles going to your mileage program and to your HHonors Account, and if you happen to have 10,000 orphaned HHonors points and need a few airpoints...

Maybe so but in general its very bad value. You can stay for 1 night at a Scandic for 10,000 HH points saving a tidy sum. Or many hotels are 25,000 HH points.

With 1,000 airpoints or even 2,500 airpoints what does that get you? Nothing. Not even close to a short reward or upgrade.

Yes but if you have 299,000 airpoints and you need 1,000 for your F award to the UK, it does come in very handy.
