Hertz - Hertz Neverlost vs. Avis Assist

Hate to cross-post, but nobody seems to have any feedback on Avis Assist over on the Avis forum.

Any comparison between the two products? I am a loyal Hertz customer because of the Neverlost (I do a lot of site visits in random cities), but my company switched preferred providers to Avis. Is this product in the same league? From the description on the Avis website it sounds like an odd offering (call in to get directions???).

Anyone?

Do I need to pull some strings to get permission to continue booking Hertz? :)

From what I've heard, Avis Assist sucks. My friend rented a convertible with Avis in SFO & got the Avis Assist - basically, the way he described it was a souped-up Nextel phone where you call a number & tell them where you want to go & they give you directions. I haven't experienced it personally, but I do really like Hertz Neverlost - from what I understand it's just a better product. Avis Assist, according to my friend, wasn't a built in unit like it is with Hertz. I guess the benefit is that you can rent a cheaper car & still get Avis Assist though...
