I have a book called "The Architectural Traveler" which lists 250 buildings in the US "Key 20th-Century American Buildings". One of them was the TWA terminal at JFK. I was passing through JFK this week so I took the airtrain to Terminal 5. I was a little surprised to see it not being used. Also I was
surprised that TWA signs were still around the building.
I walked up to the building and there was a guard just inside the door and
a small number of people walking around, all photographers. I asked if I
could look at the building, or even stand for a minute inside the door and was told no, but it looked pretty interesting from the windows.
Does anyone know the likely future for this building? I passed through JFK a couple times on TWA flights to Europe, but I have no specific memory of this terminal before.
