I am trying to go DFW-CDG. On the way there, UA metal DFW-ORD-LHR, then a stopover in LHR, later continuing BD metal LHR-CDG. The return is US metal CDG-PHL-DFW.

Does anyone know if London is a valid routing on the way to CDG on a Star award with US? On UA it is, but I am having problems with this discussion with US and I do not want to sit through another 20+ minute hold to talk to someone.

Thanks,
BillJ

I can't see any reason why this wouldn't be valid. Hopefully US will give you the same answer.

Agreed. You should be able to do this. Enjoy the A330!

I originally put DFW-ORD-LHR and CDG-PHL-DFW on hold. Called yesterday to ask if I could switch it from open-jaw to a stopover, and the agent said yes and offered me a couple of different BD LHR-CDG flights.

However, the flight times were not exactly what I wanted, so I did not change anything. Called back today and was told by an agent and a supervisor that the stopover is illegal because it is not the most direct routing. And of course now they have documented my record.

Wishing that I had the agent yesterday insert the segment. Not I am not sure what to do.
