US Airways Dividend Miles (Pre-FlightFund Merger) - Need 12k for Chairman's Preferred

Looking to make Chairman's by month's end. Only need 12k but have no vacation time until Thanksgiving. What runs could I do best taking into account 9-5 job Monday-Friday and having only 1-2 weekends to do this?

Some thoughts I was considering were WAS-LAS but would have to do this 4 times. Other idea was JFK-EZE but this is only about 9k. Is there a good 8k run with a Y fare to get 1.5 Q points, thus getting 12k in one weekend to Europe or somewhere.

Are you getting the Double Vision double preferred miles bonus? That is valid through the end of September, I think.

nyc-phl-lax is about 2600 miles one way...a couple weekend trips on a go-fare is all you'd need

Register for 7822 - double preferred miles through 9/30. It does not work with other promitions, such as the 3X a lot of people signed up for. It is not targetted. It does take 4-6 weeks to post, so although you would be through flying, it wouldnt kick you over to CP until Nov.

Actually it is targetted but a phone call to the DM service center can get your account tagged for the promotion. The bonus miles will post with the flight miles.

Thanks for the replies. I think I will route LGA-DCA-X-LAS to go for the 3x miles, albeit not towards status. Will call about the other promo but still seems tempting to just fly to Japan and get status done with just one trip.

I believe that you need to be on a direct flight to get the 3x go-fare miles.

You could always fly to TPA and from there to SEA. That'll get you close to 20,000 status miles if you connect through PHL or PIT and sign up for double status.

That was NOT the case for 3X promo out of PHL although you had to call DM and have them hand-enter the bonus miles.

You definately don't have to travel on direct flights, as a lot of the GoFare markets from WAS are not served by direct flights. The miles may not post automatically, but a quick call or email to the DMSC will get them posted.
