I just noticed this when I checked my bookings that CX828 HKG-YYZ will have a stop in YVR. I couldn't find the exact start date. I just hope it will not cause me problems to connect on to YUL.

Actually CX828 has stopped in YVR for a LONG time already (since Sept 11 I think) Used to Stop in ANC. Note that this is ONLY a TECHNICAL STOP (for Re-fuel purpose ONLY!) so it won't affect you in anyway! djjaguar64 Sep 15, 04, 8:28 am I flew CX HKG-YYZ non stop after Sep11. What flight # was that ? The 828 lands in YYZ at 10:15pm. agmhkg Sep 15, 04, 3:52 pm During Winter CX828 can be a HKG/YYZ non-stop flight, while the returning YYZ/HKG needs a tech refueling stop in YVR( ANC b4 911) djjaguar64 Sep 15, 04, 6:37 pm That's very true, i do remember that it was the winter schedule. Thank you. That was a great flight non-stop in J. My the service as well excellent, being called by name and the non stop champagne flowing. Guy Betsy Sep 15, 04, 9:17 pm I just noticed this when I checked my bookings that CX828 HKG-YYZ will have a stop in YVR. You'll still continue onto YYZ as you're not allowed to deplane in YVR since it's a refuelling stop only. Nuitari Sep 17, 04, 5:31 am CX just called me today to warn me of the change, when I asked the guy if he honestly think that 1h10m is enough to change plane in YYZ he said he's going to call back on monday after checking. Hi... 1 hour 10minutes isn't enough time for you to get from Terminal 3 in Toronto to Terminal 2. Especially with the NEW and "improved" airport. And you'll have to clear immigration and customs as well. Try and see if your ticket will allow a transfer from Vancouver. That way you can take CX888 and transfer to YUL that way. newcx12345 Sep 17, 04, 9:15 pm Hi... 1 hour 10minutes isn't enough time for you to get from Terminal 3 in Toronto to Terminal 2. I think you might as well just get the next flight out of YYZ to YUL? If not possible then you can consider getting the CX888 or 838 to JFK and then transit to YUL?? Will that be better? Hey, if AC's service is good enough for Maggie Cheung, Sally Yeh & husband George Lam, and Zhang Zi Yi all going to the Toronto Film Festival, it's good enough for Nuitari. He might have to overnight in YYZ at his own expense if CX's flight is delayed and he misses his connection to YUL. Better get the transfer in YVR.. or perhaps in JFK on the nonstop..... AA has flights between JFK and YUL on a RJ. One class only. newcx12345 Sep 18, 04, 4:54 am Hey, if AC's service is good enough for Maggie Cheung, Sally Yeh & husband George Lam, and Zhang Zi Yi all going to the Toronto Film Festival, it's good enough for Nuitari. "Maggie Cheung, Sally Yeh & husband George Lam, and Zhang Zi Yi " Well they are not Mr& Mrs Tung Chee Wah!! hahaha I know Sally Yeh and George Lam were only travelling in J Class when they came to SYD (my relative was on the same flight) Shareholder Sep 18, 04, 2:37 pm If your flight gets into T3 on time, at that hour there is not much traffic, so aside from a 5-/10-minute walk to the Immigration/Customs area, you should get processed rather quickly if you can get ahead of most of the passengers on the long walk [and don't have to lug too many bags]. Depending upon the passport you hold, you should be through and waiting for your bags in less than 10-minutes. If the bags arrive within 20-minutes, you should get out of T3 in a half-hour, giving you 40-minutes to take the shuttle over to T1. Not sure about transfer facilities for any checked bags though between CX and AC, but they must have it. While it is tight, it is not an impossible feat. If you arrived earlier in the day, I would say no way, but at that hour there is a full complement of Immigration staff and most desks are open, which means a quick processing. Must also depends upon how much checked luggage you have, what you are declaring in the way of goods, and your citizenship. Also, if you qualify, and want to invest $50, you can get a CanPass before you leave. That will ensure you get a speedy trip through Immigration, but you'll then have to wait for any checked bags. Good luck. |
