I have seen this in other forums but after my Sunday MAN-LHR on BMI I thought I would ask in here.

On the above flight there were 4 BMI FA's (In uniform) and 2 C passengers. During the whole boarding process at least 2 of the on duty FA's were sitting on the arm rests and talking with the ones off duty.

Has anyone else seen this? I don't think its very profesional, given that my flight was already late maybe they could have used theri time better getting ready for departure.

I do think off duty crew should fly in C if space is avalable, but they should just be treated like the regular passengers, and their presence should certainly not effect the service of paying passengers in either C or Y.

You had only four? I had at least 6 recently, which irked me somewhat as it was they who prevented me from using my upgrade cert. I think it would be far better PR for them to prioritise gold upgrades ahead of crew, but it will never happen.

Yes, I am getting fed up with this Employee C Class thing. Last flight MAN-LHR last Tuesday and there were two paying pax plus two employees obviously marrying each other at some point as the FA announced congratulations to them laughing over the tannoy. These two employees too spent the flight wandering around, kneeling on the seats and I just thought it was very unprofessional.

EDI-LBA Friday evening is worse still...I've never been in C when the number of staff has been less than paying pax.

This has got worse in recent years.

What is really annoying is that the employees take the better seats. BD seem reluctant to move the curtain. So often the Y cabin has many empty seats but the C cabin is full and if like me you regularly change flights at the last minute you always seem to get the middle seat (even as a *G) while junior crew take the A&C seats.

If only BA flew to BHD/BFS from LHR :)

Oh that they would.... I've never quite worked out why they pulled the route. The loads were always good, and presumably BFS would be delighted to have them back given that the airport's sole customer is now cheesyJet. Failing that, I don't see why BMI couldn't continue operations to BFS in addition to the BHD services. BHD is simply too small to deal with the arrival of a full A321 (plus the short runway doesn't allow much margin for error ;) )

There simply isn't enough capacity on this route (I'm tired of paying upwards of £250 for a quick weekend in NI simply because I can't book 8 months in advance and don't want to go to LTN :td: )
