Does anyone know how long it takes to get the card? I booked some stays at the St James in London and wanted to get credit.
Does anyone have any feedback on this place?
Thanks in advance,
Jon

Mine took 6-8 weeks to get the physical card to Australia
You don't need the phyiscal card to use it tho - call Sofitel and they'll give you your member number etc.

Thank you. Do you know if they have a number for North America?
What kind of service have they given you? Someone recommended the brand to me.

Jon

In all honesty, I've never stayed at a Sofitel, only signing up because 1) it's free and 2) I'm a fan of all things Accor.
The numbers on the back of the card are :
Privileged Guest Service Center
International : (33)(0) 1 60 87 92 92
North America: 1 800 SOFITEL (Toll Free)
Asia/Australia (61) (0) 2 85 84 86 45

Hope this helps

Mrs Northants JP and I stopped there summer 2005 for a long weekend.
We bid £100 for each of 2 nights and were given this hotel. ^
The hotel is quite small (a boutique hotel really) and is, I believe, a converted bank. The room that we had was smallish with a very tiny bathroom, but was very well furnished. Whilst we received an upgrade on checkin our room still looked in on a very small inner open area - bit like a courtyard but not as nice. This meant that for privacy it was necessary to leave the net across the window. The room we had, I would say ius fine for short stays, for longer stays I would want something a bit bigger with more coathanger space. The beds were, we reckon, the most comfortable we have ever slept in. ^
The hotel feels quite individual and very uncorporate. We liked the tiny intimate and chic bar in the hotel. The staff were very friendly and most, I think, were French.
There is Roux Brothers Bistro attached to the hotel, didn't eat there, but it looked fine.
The hotel is very well located, 3 mins walk from Piccadilly Circus, 1 min from St James Park.
The leaflet in our room said the rack rate was £400, for that price I would not have been happy, but for £100 we were very very pleased.
The freebies with the sofitel privilege card - a glass of champagne after check in at the bar, and some cherries in the room.
All in all a very nice hotel for a short stay, for longer stays I might prefer a slightly larger room overlooking a street as opposed to one of those inner wells that you get from time to time in city hotels.

I stayed a couple of weeks ago and it was mostly as you say, including the wonderful bed. ^
I paid 270 pounds, but all the hotels in the west end were packed. I couldn't get into any of my normal haunts.
Did you go into the Rose room? That has to be one of the most feminine rooms in the world.
We had our free Rose Champagne (Pommery) in that room. Nice deal. ^

I stayed there a couple of years ago in December. I had booked a room with two beds as I was staying with my mom. We were told the room wasnt ready and to come back in a couple of hours. Two hours later the room still was not ready but close, offered a drink in the bar which we accepted. Were told someone would come to get us in the bar. Waited for over 45 mins and no one came to get us. Went back to desk and yes room was ready. Got to room and it was a downgrade from the delux room with two beds to standard room with only one bed. Called the front and was told they had nothing else. Insisted and was offered a "very comfortable" roll away. Got very angry and a room was made available. Note that I have an accor favorite guest card which is supposed to carry priviledges such as room upgrades and priority treatment. Second room was nice and roomy with a good view over the square out front. I liked the decor of the room and the beds were very nice.
Second evening we wanted to use our free drink coupon in the bar. Bar is very small and it was full. They have an overflow area that is used for tea in the afternoon but it was booked for a private party. Was told to have a seat in the lobby and we would be served there. Waited for 15 minutes and noone ever came to take our drink orders.
Our entire stay had rough service like that. I believe the hotel was fairly new at the time and it was also very full so that was probably part of the problem. I did like the hotel itself and the location.

LOL :D :D :D
We saw it, harpist included, it's how I would imagine Barbara Cartland's living room. It was not our sort of place at all. We stayed put in the bar
