US Airways Dividend Miles (Pre-FlightFund Merger) - If I just attained SP status,
do I get any of the perks immediately, or are none of them available until next year, as the web site seems to indicate? I ask because I do have a few upcoming flights on US, and I wasn't sure what my status was.
Thanks!

You get them right now. Log on to your DM account and you should see Silver Preferred. If it does not say that, call the DMSC to make sure that you are silver. However, your Silver preferred packagae will not arrive until Jan or Feb.

I think that US will mail you a packet containing your new SP card, valid thru 2/2006 now. Usually they send them when you qualify, unless you qualify in Nov or Dec, in which case they just wait until next year.
There isn't really anything in the packet, I think about all it includes is a card, a letter, and a trifold brochure on the benefits.

One quirk to be aware of -- reservations that were made prior to a status change don't reflect your new status. You have to ask them to add it (for instance for advance seat selection or a possible upgrade.)
The flip side of this is that reservations that are made prior to a downgrade in status still show the old status -- or so I've been told ;)
Another quick (and somewhat related) question: I have an upcoming UA flight that I booked some time ago, using my non-status MP number. If I want to use my silver status to try to get E+ seating on that flight, do I have to use my US number instead, and how should I go about doing this?
Thanks again :)

Yes, you will have to use your US Silver number. Call UA and ask them to change your number to US, and then ask them to assign you a seat in E+.
Also, do not attempt to do UA online checkin. You have to enter your MP number to bring up the reservation. Once you do that, your US number is replaced by your UA MP number and you will probably be bumped from E+.
