US Airways Dividend Miles (Pre-FlightFund Merger) - Maybe US Should Be Proactive With Preferred Challenges

I can only surmise that with the bankruptcy filing, reservations are falling off. From the talk on this board it appears a number of Preferred's are going elsewhere. I have 46,000 miles and expect to hit 60,000 within next couple of weeks. After that I am looking to gaining status elsewhere for the remainder of this year's flying which may include a trans-Atlantic and a trans-Pacific trip. Not enough to make CP by themselves but with other flying I'd be clsoe, but like everyone else I have to look at #1 first. Maybe now is the time to encourage their preferreds not to jump ship, but encourage Silvers and Golds to keep flying. While the CP's may not like it, broad-based challenges maybe should be considered that extend through 2/2006.

It worked for UA, so I see no reason for US not to try it.

Their overriding concern should be to get paying pax into seats now. Sure it will make upgrades and awards tighter in 2005, but having 100 CP or 100,000 CP in 2005 means nothing if there is no US.
