US Airways Dividend Miles (Pre-2005 America West merger) - IF LIQUIDATED WILL FF USAir PAPER TIX BE HONORED?

I used US FF miles to do a long weekend in Italy on Lufthansa in First Class returning yesterday. ^ I believe USAir miles should be burned, as only CO has emerged from chapter 22 without liquidating. Furthermore, I have seen a huge negative attitude change among US's employees over the past several months, to the extent I fly them on a "need to" basis only. I don't care what the press release says about our miles being safe. All I know is that my Lufthansa ticket was really a USAir ticket, that was, and had to be issued (and changed) by USAir. Now if USAir liquidates, and I am holding a required USAir FF paper ticket for a Lufthansa flight, do you really think Lufthansa will accept it? Not me. Will United accept my Eticket to Utah in January if they liquidate...maybe. But experts out there, let me know what you think. I have whittled down from over a million to just over 200,000 miles. But I spent 300,000 for a family trip on US to the Bahamas in Feb. Hope they don't liquidate by then. I'm going to try to burn my last 200k on Lufthansa again for a weekend in AMS as soon as possible. All I can say is I loved this airline, as I racked up millions of miles on it. I think the unions and management are equally to blame for the destruction of what once was a great airline.

I expect paper tickets to be treated no differently than e-tickets.

If I toss a coin into the air will it come up heads or tails?

It is the same sort of question you asked.

Try searching this topic. It would be very useful if we had a sticky on this because my spidey vision senses about 100 pending posts on the same topic

Sorry if this is stupid (I'm new here) but how are E-tickets going to be treated? I just got one for a R/T first class to AMS for next April. Is there anything that I should/can do to assure that I can count on this ticket? Thanks

If they liquidate, you are cooked if the ticket was purchased with dividend miles and on USAir. Sorry bro.

Yay! Another expert opinion.

We really need a sticky, and then everyone can go there and ask "Well, what about my ticket, Will it be OK" and "Will US be flying when I travel on Nov 28?"

I mean, I understand peoples' concern, but I think that we are all in the same boat here, and no one has an answer. The number of threads opened daily just to ask if a ticket will be OK is getting out of hand. There are already numerous threads on the subject, why can't people just post their questions in the threads that already exist.

Perhaps we could consider a 100 post minimum for the US forum? ;)

Moderators please note this excellent suggestion. Otherwise, I think this forum will get bogged down with "I'm new here and was wondering whether my ticket to see Aunt Sallie will still be good in December" and so forth.

I think the sticky would help keep the board in order and be a big help to newbies!

I second that opinion. While we're at it, Mr. Moderator, can we retire the United Upgrade Thread Sticky to cut down on clutter, please? The last post was June 3! Thanks.

I like to think that people are not posting on the thread because it is so darn comprehensive, thereby being self-explanatory. . .

But as you can see I am somewhat attached to it ;)

But these new "Will Grandma May's December 8th from CLT-GSO be honored" threads are getting way to wearisome.

I think we should develop a page of FAQ's and I volunteer Mikelaw for the job ^ :)

LOL LOL

And I second all previous posts- UA upgrade sticky should be removed and I think we should have another sticky regarding all BK reports, info, and Aunt Sally questions.
