Just want to get people's thought at the moment.

I am confirmed in J at the moment CX251 (23:55) at the moment.
However as you guys know I am stuck in the lower deck at present.
I am on WL in Z Class on this flight.
Also J Class is pretty full at the moment as the status is J7C0D0I0 already.

Unfortunately CX255 (12:25) is an AIRBUS, hence it will be out of the question. (unless my Z class gets through). Don't know why CX decided to change it since both 255 and 251 are more popular than 253

I was wondering is it worthwhile getting the CX 253 (14:45) it is a 744 and I can still get the Upper Deck in J Class.
Also there might be more chance to upgrade to Z

If I get the CX253 I need to rush through my time in HKG (need to goto the bank(get money for my trip), Buy Digitial Camera, Buy I-Pod (for Photo Storage), Buy Memory card and meet friends for breakfast. (all in the space of 7 hours). Also I will need to prob stay at LHR for one night (Sheraton) until the following day to connect to EDI

Just want to know has anyone tried CX253?

How do they feel about the flight?
What are the meal arrangements?
How is the catering? (prob same as all other ex. HKG?)

I still say that even being in the lower deck makes no difference at all with the service; I actually really like being downstairs. The windows are bigger, the overhead bins are bigger, and you get off of the plane faster.

And the air's fresher... the upper deck can be a bit stuffy.
