Cathay Pacific Asia Miles - CX A330 old J or TG 777 (2-4-2 J) ?
HI
I have the choice between HKG-BKK of the CX Airbus 330 regional J seats which do not have good press at all and a TG 777 with the 2-4-2 J seat configuration which also has very bad press
Any thoughts ?

CX for sure. The 'old' regional business class seats are fine - decent width and legroom. The new are not good, but you do have a good chance of avoiding them.
TG's 2-4-2 is really quite tight in width, with a marginally worse pitch. Plus it feels like sitting in the economy cabin. I seem to be unlucky with TG crews - the service is light years better on CX.

CX has no 'old' J. It has the current new J class regionally on some 777 aircrafts which IMO is proving quite unpopular with the public. The current J seats are on the 330 aircrafts.
The current regional J seats are comfortable enough for a 2-5 hour flight. HKG-BKK is only about 2hour 20 minutes. It has 45 seat pitch and is actually quite comfy when you do the full recline.
Take CX. Much more comfortable than TG's J seats... which seem somewhat hard.
Or you could always try the other airlines flying the route.. EK, UL, GF, AY, KA, CI to name a few.
Thanks for the quick response
I will try CX out although I could do with the miles in my *A NH account.
The other carrier are not an option schedule wise
Again thanks for the input

For sure, avoid the TG 777-200 C class seats. They're not only tight, but uncomfortable---I felt like I was sliding off the cushion when I sat on them.
