Forgive me if this question has been asked before... I'm a newbie to redemption and looking for some advice from thou who art experienced in such matters.
I have relocated from the UK to Asia earlier in the year and will be flying home early in 2005 for my annual leave. During my time in the UK, I have racked quite some BA miles flying around Europe. Sadly I only managed to attain Sapphire status in the process...
Now I'm looking to buy the best-value Y ticket on CX for HKG-AMS and upgrade to J using my BA miles. Any advice on how to go about this would be greatly appreciated!

Although I am no longer an active member of Executive Club, from a quick look on their website it isn't clear to me that you can use BA Miles to upgrade a CX flight. Even if you want to upgrade on a BA flight the website seems to say that you must have purchased you ticket directly from BA.
But you are in the wrong forum here - you need to be asking this question in the BA forum.

Hi Christep,
Thanks for your quick reply!
It stayed unclear to me even after quite a bit more than a quick look... Will post the same question on the BA board to see if there are any great ideas!

BAEC-UK members cannot upgrade CX flights. Only BA flights, and only originating from UK.
BA miles reward redemptions in asia region are expensive... best to use them for trips around Europe as part of your annual leave. I plan to use BA miles to fly relatives out to join me in Spain nextyear for example.
