Hello All,

I am new to this bidding thingy and I have a few questions:

1) How many sites are there at the moment? and which ine is the best?

2) How does the whole thing work?

3) it seems that you do not have a CHOICE as to the selection of hotel? Is that true? So you can only nominate a location and the # of star for a particular hotel? But you can't choose the particular hotel?? I guess beggars can't be choosers?

4) Also I presume the rates donot include breakfast and early checkin/late checkout is out of the question?

Priceline and Hotwire are the two main players in the 'opaque' travel business. Which is better depends upon your needs, but generally speaking Priceline is often a bit less expensive while Hotwire gives you a bit more control over the actual hotel (see answer to #2)

2) How does the whole thing work?
Try this link: I'VE NEVER USED PRICELINE or HOTWIRE (http://www.betterbidding.com/show.php/act/ST/f/173/t/242)

Correct on all counts. Not knowing the actual hotel is what we give up for the very deep discounts.

If the hotel offers breakfast to all of its guests (such as at AmeriSuites, Embassy Suites, etc) than you too are entitled to breakfast. Late check-out is at the discretion of the hotel, as it is with regular guests. I have usually not had a problem getting an hour or two extended onto check-out time, but most hotels will not give you 6pm check-out like they used to do years ago (but i have found this to be the case on all hotel stays, and not Priceline/Hotwire specific). Same goes for check-in... if a room is available they usually will have no problem giving it to you before the official check-in time.
