I know well the differences between flying within the US and Europe. Over here in Europe it's a breeze as security is behind the scenes where it belongs. In the US it's in your face. But this article, especially the last part reinforces my opinions with statements from experts. And the basic reason is that Europe has had terrorism forever and 9/11 was the US's first experience (aside from Oklahoma City). Thus the US has a very poor reaction which may take decades to get over.

A very good article, which contains comments from experts about the difference between the US approach and the European approach to Airport security. To me this has been obvious for years, as I was born and lived in the UK and now live in the USA.

I only hope that the americans understand this difference and can make meaningful changes in their approach to security, which will benefit us all. Unfortunately I am afraid that this will not happen.
