There is no link posted on Royal Bank's website just yet but for those of you out there who can apply for a Canadian credit card this is a great deal. The Avion allowes you to transfer points on a 1:1 basis to AA or BA or use it within their own reward program. If you apply now you get 12,500 sign-up points plus double points on all purchases through August 2005.

For US customers who can come up with a way to qulify for this card and have the knowledge and patience to play the foreign-exchange market its not impossible to profit off using a CAD$ card for USD$ purchases. Keep in mind you get one point for every CAD$ spent or about $.77USD - in other words roughly 1.23 points per USD$ depending on the FX rate.

Hmmm.... I see on their site that it is 10,000 points (miles) for signing up... not 12,500 and there is a $120 CAD yearly fee. To transfer the points into AA miles, it can only be done in batches of 10,000 points (http://www.rbcroyalbank.com/cards/rbcrewards/travel/air_avion.html#b). Still not a bad offer though.
