America West FlightFund (Discontinued Program) - 10k Miles from Sprint PCS Question

I took sprint up on its 10K HP Mileage offer.

They advised I'd receive two 5k installments, the first one about 6 to 8 weeks after my first bill, then another one after 6 months.

However, it has been about 6 weeks since my first bill. I have noticed that they credited me with 1,000 miles from the start date of my contract for "PCS renewal"

Any other sprint customers get this 1000 mile credit? How long did it take you to get your first 5,000 miles? I am curious if the 1000 mile credit should have been 5000 and I was shorted 4,000 or if I should wait another month or so and maybe my 5000 will show up and I'll have received an extra 1,000 in the process.

No 1,000 credit in my case. I activated new PCS service with a Palm Treo 600. (Interestingly, I wasn't even focused on the miles aspect until I was at the cash register and the clerk asked me if I was a HP FF member. I said, "Yes." He said, "Would you like 10,000 free miles for this purchase?" :eek: Duh! Easiest 10K miles I've ever stumbled into. I'm almost afraid to admit that here -- I should be ashamed of myself!)

Anyway, my purchase date was 5/21/04. The first 5,000 have posted. On my Flight Fund statement it states:

Activity Date: 5/1/04 (not 5/21, the date I purchased)
Post Date: 7/5/04

Thanks for the info (and the amusing story). I got an e-mail back from Sprint, they stated that it will take 12 weeks from the date the promo code was inserted on to my account (which was about 10 days after I paid my bill).

So, I probably got those 1,000 mystery miles for free, but I have to wait 4 months (instead of the few weeks from start date quoted by the agent) for the 5,000 I should receive.

Oh well, I'll simply think of those 1,000 as an interest payment on the 5,000 I'm getting a bit late.
