Hertz - No UA miles from Hertz in TLV?

I just got back from Israel. I had reserved a weekly rental with Hertz using the UA discount code, and had planned to credit miles to UA. The guy who did my paperwork at Hertz in TLV, however, said they don't do UA miles. Then I noticed my discount wasn't on the printout he'd given me.

I ended up getting the discount anyway by showing my AAA card, and I gave them my AAdvantage number instead of UA (although the miles still haven't shown up at AA). But what's up with this? Can you only get UA miles from Hertz in certain locations?

Just wondering.

To answer my own question... the miles never showed up at AA. So I contacted Hertz, who offered to post the miles to UA in the end (after I faxed them a copy of my receipt from TLV--their computers are separate).

Not sure why the TLV folks didn't know about UA. Weird.
