Can you add your Hertz Number 1 card number to a priceline reservation so the car is ready for you?

Refused to even tie the number at the counter. Then again it was Puerto Rico and one of the tires was flat. Hope that was just an oversight and not a special added feature for Priceline reservations.

I agree with the poster who said Priceline for a rental car requires a big price differential to be worth it.

In my experience, as long as you use a credit card that is in your #1 Club Gold profile the reservation will get tied to your #1 Club Gold account automatically without even having to ask.

That shouldn't work with priceline, because with priceline reservations Hertz never sees your credit card number. They just see that it was prepaid.

Priceline does see a credit card, becuase you are required to provide one at time of rental.

The one time I called (2 years ago) I was not able to do it. Haven't tried since.

However, I have never had a problem going directly to the #1 Club Gold booth with plastic card and Priceline printout in hand. No points, miles, or upgrades, but the agent in that booth can get you on the road fast.

It's the only real reason I keep track of those rental-car-agency plastic cards: they come in handy to skip the main counter on Priceline rentals.

Yes, but they don't see the card until you get to the counter and give it to them. The card number is not in the reservation ahead of time.

Dragging up an old thread... but does anyone have any updates on this? I haven't used Hertz in AGES even though I have a #1 Gold membership through work. Going on a holiday and used Priceline... ended up with Hertz.

I expect the answer is no, but... will my #1 Gold benefit me at all?

Probably not upgrade-wise, but depending on where you are renting, you might save some time by walking directly to the Gold booth to process your paperwork. Bring your Gold card and reservation number. That's never been a problem for me at any agency - in fact, Priceline rentals are really the only time I actually show anybody the plastic cards for #1 Club Gold, Quicksilver, Dollar Express, etc.

You can not use your Gold Service because the Priceline reservation is prepaid and acts like a voucher rental, meaning you have to sign the rental agreement to verify you are you and did indeed pick up the car. We always let Gold members go to the Gold lobby and do the rental there, but you will need to show your driver's license, credit card and bring your Gold card, just in case. :)
