So there will be 4 of us travelling LAX-PHX 10/8-10/10. Fares on the flights I want were $58 rt for the longest time but we put off buying the tix until we got the wedding invite. Got that Friday, decided to buy the tix Saturday, so my sister and I were on the phone at the same time (I was walking her through the steps) and I would always get $58 and she $88. Finally after 3 tries we both had the $58 fare, but I had other things to do so I logged off and went back to buy 2 tix on my end later on - $88 each. Then I tried 1 adult, 1 senior and the thing gave me $104 EACH (hello - why would it do that when if I buy it individually it was $88, made NO sense). Then my sister calls and she got one tix at $58 but couldn't get the other for $88. So we gave up and I said lets try Monday.
It's now Monday, she calls me and said she got the tix for $58 and that I should try, I do, I get one for $58 but now, no matter what I do I can't get the last tix for $58, it's back to $88. What kind of neurotic system IS this????

You have "sold out" the cheap fare bracket
If price is all that matters - try WN

So do these cheap fare brackets change daily or something? Makes no sense that I got one cheap fare Saturday, none were available yesterday, and 2 were available today.
And no, I will not be flying WN as I do not care for them, I was just wondering if anyone knew the reasons for the strange fares is all.

I've had similar things happen. Recently I was on the phone with my uncle, trying to talk him through booking a ticket on-line at americawest.com and he kept getting fares that were $50 higher per person than I was getting on my computer for the identical trip. We tried it over and over again, with the same result. It made no sense whatsoever. The next day, it worked fine.

I always try and book one ticket first to see what the pricing is, and then for a whole group. This summer I ran into the same problem. I got one ticket at $148, and the next two for $168. I wasn't going to wait for any more to free up, so I just bit the bullet. (I booked one by itself, and the other two together).
When I tried to book all 3 together, it gave me the $168 each price. $20 is $20. :)

Glad to see the HP site is equally discriminatory towards everyone - lol.
I checked this morning and was able to get the final ticket for $58. OY! Of course I chose the seats I wanted, clicked all the buttons to make the purchase and the HP web gods decided that the seats I chose were unacceptable and changed them for me. Of course when I went to correct the mistake I was unable to, so I'll be making a call on the 800#. Double OY!! Can't wait to give my friend that works for americawest.com some hell :p :D
