SAN FRANCISCO (BCN)
A federal appeals court ruled in San Francisco today that a passenger who developed a blood clot on a 12-hour flight from Los Angeles to New Zealand can't sue the airline for damages.
The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals said Air New Zealand Ltd. was protected from the passenger's lawsuit by the Warsaw Convention, an international treaty that limits airlines' liability.
