MilesBuzz! - HHonors/Frequenta bonus: A big thank you to Ozstamps

Many thanks to Ozstamps for his crazy lateral thinking that has helped so many of us to earn all those Frequenta/Hilton miles.

What a shame that so many people at the outset decried what he had suggested, saying the whole thing was impossible, instead of signing up themselves.

I bet you all have now!

Merry Christmas.

I would also add my sentiments to this post. I have quickly run up a lot of Hilton points thanks to tips from Ozstamps. I know he's being dragged through the mud in other forums (please don't rehash his infractions here) but I have benefitted from his presence on FT.

Ditto!

There is a saying that "if you don't like the program, turn the channel."

Thanks OZstamps http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

I, too (at least in this instance), have benefitted from Ozstamps' presence on FT. Thank you, Oz, for the Mexicana/Hilton tip(s).

However, the issue here is one of credibility. You can't turn the channel if you don't know whether the program is credible. Or if you don't know the identity or intentions of the programmer.

My partner and I now have 20,000 HHilton points due to this very easy to use Flyer tip. Our sincere thanks. No more flames - just more free point offers like this please!

Also thanks to mileonaire for bringing this to the front. I had given up because I did not want the hassle of the phone card, but after reading a little more I found out people were emailing Mexicana and getting only the initial bonus converted to Hilton! Here's to my hopeful 10k HH!

Yep, many thanks to ozstamps!

It's also worth changing Frequenta to your Hilton airline for double dipping. Just a few stays and you get another 10k Hilton points, which are more worthwhile than a few hundred FF miles.

Ozstamps, thank you for all your insights and your contributions, especially on how to earn more mileage and points.

Your piece about 1k has motivated me to set it as a goal.

There are many - - he/they posted all over the boards. Here's one: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum1/HTML/003354-4.html
When reading this thread, keep in mind that Ozstamps, Janejet and MolsonMiler are all one and the same person, so take their "comments" with a grain of salt.

rsilver .. this free HHilton points promo sort of evolved in an ad hoc fashion over a few months. In the end result, a husband/wife can end up with about 50,000 points in Hilton without flying or staying Hilton, and with a tiny bit of effort it becomes about 100,000 points. Sorry the threads are all scattered, but it DOES work, and despite the prickly Cactus comments above, (you can bet he, his wife and his CHILDREN won't be sending their 100,000+ points back!) the best page to look at is probably this one here as it is getting down to the tail end of the nitty gritty of the program nuances:

You need to (a) both join Hilton on line, and change your room preferences etc, and THEN join Frecuenta, and THEN sign up for the calling card.

you need THIS website to get the first 3,000 each, in minutes:

Go for it! Santa will shower you with free points! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

When you all look at that thread, please remember that Janejet and MolsonMiler are both Ozstamps aliases.

Keep that in mind as you read the "experiences" of JJ and MM.

I don't care how many "personalities" ozstamps has. I got the 10,000 HHonors points and am very happy http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif.

Many FTers got something for nothing making their transfers via e-mail. But the show is apparently over: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum1/HTML/003805.html

You can fool some of the airlines all the time and all of the airlines some of the time but ... you can't get something for nothing forever.

Andrew, I don't mean this to sound harsh but I am sorry to hear that you really have your priorities in the wrong place. Are you blind to what has been happening on these boards? As I write this, Ozstamps is off again claiming more victims with his venom. These are good, honest people that are being hurt. These are also people who would help you, a total stranger, out if you needed it.

Anyway, on a different matter, I spent some time looking over your site, and I have some simple suggestions to improve your investment holdings section. You may want to include acquisition dates, updated current prices, year-to-date performances (along with associated benchmarks), and your own compounded returns so that the readers can judge your stock picking prowess. It will also help you adjust your holdings or at least justify underperformers if any. If you no longer hold those stocks in your LT port, then you should update the table as needed. I would also add your report date and price performance since you wrote your AMD analysis. It also looks like you are what they would call an aggressive investor. Well, you probably already know this, but it's worth repeating: Limit your margin exposure if you are going to maintain a high risk profile with such a heavy weight in tech stocks. Yes, you can afford to be wiped out at your age, but it would still hurt (a lot). Finally, a disclaimer as my investment-related advice is obviously worth only as much as you paid for it.

fallinasleep,

I have no problem with the "harshness" of your note. The reason I appear to be "blind" to what is going on is that I have seen it all before on the various investment chat groups. You'd be shocked at the lengths some of those short-sellers go to in order to bash a stock. As for ozstamps, I haven't really spent the time to follow his escapades, and don't really wish to.

On the web site/investment front, I thank you for your remarks. The web-site is meant to be for fun. I am a software engineer by trade and investing is a hobby/interest. My AMD analysis, for example, was cobbled together over a weekend as a means to generate discussion with a couple of my friends. It is very interesting to see how one's expectation can change in a short span of time.

Presently, the only prick-ly thing on this or any other FT thread is Oz/JJ/MM. Yes, Oz, both my wife and I took advantage of the Mexicana/Hilton offer, as I acknowledged above and in several other places on these boards. However, my children did not - - minimum age for Hilton HHonors accounts is 18, contrary to what MolsonMiler posted here: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum1/HTML/003354-4.html. If Janejet and MolsonMiler are going to heap praise on Oz, they first ought to get the facts straight.

The ONLY part of this issue that I am addressing is "WHY MILES SHOULD NOT BE TRANSFERRED ONLY BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT FLIGHT MILES." I am not questioning anyone's motives or how they got them. No major debates.....I just don't understand something.

Other than the bonus miles from Frequenta, don't the companies that promote their businesses via Mexicana pay for the miles? The florists and the Mexicana Mastercard? Please correct me if I am wrong. For example, Global One must pay for the miles deposited in the Frequenta account? Is this any different than companies paying for "points" on Milesource (or other program) for EXPOSURE to their product? If these miles are paid for by others, what is it to Mexicana to transfer them wherever we want? The original sign-up miles were also promotional to expose Mexicana to some that may not be aware of the website, etc.

As far as something for nothing - I have an American Express Card that is Delta Sky Miles. I use my miles for free tickets....this is not taking advantage of Delta...American Express is suplementing the cost of those miles. If I am correct, these same miles can be transferred to hotel loyalty accounts.

I have been accumulating Hilton points via Mypoints and Frequenta (before the new disclosure of not transfering "non flight miles" and have NOW become a PAID Hilton customer due to these promotions. I had a paid stay at a Doubletree property a few weeks ago and we have reservations for a PAID stay at a Hilton in Canada for this summer. These promotions are done for a reason and helps all parties promote their companies.

I don't feel that I have taken advantage of anything that wasn't "offered" in the first place. Since I signed up for Global One (forever ago) and will get those points (MAŅANA, MAŅANA), it is too bad that now they will just sit in the Frequenta account and go to waste. The odds of me flying Frequenta are not good. When I enrolled with Global One, this restriction was not there.

Anyway......Happy Holidays.
This was just my two cents.
