Dear AirNZ Folks,

I'll be flying AKL-DUD-AKL with the WLG stopover; the non-stops sadly don't fit my schedule towards the end of the month and was wondering if there is any food service on these domestic flights. I read that AKL-WLG-AKL is just coffee/tea & biscuit but whatabout WLG-DUD?

Also, since its just about 30mins stopover at WLG do we de-plane? If yes, would I hv time to pop into the lounge to grab maybe some other snacks? Sorry, never been to WLG.

Thank you all :)

No food service at all on any NZ domestic flights (other than the biscuit with your tea/coffee that is) unless you happen to be on one of the 'international' flights from CHC-AKL. So, you're out of luck on that score, however you should be able to do a quick dash to the (excellent) lounge in WLG, since it's a very compact airport. There's usually a great range of food in that particular lounge, assuming it has recovered from its recent upset (the roof was torn off by 180 km/h winds...). I'll be passing through WLG a few times later this month too, so this is an issue of some concern to me!

Back to your situation, however - it's not such a bad thing to be on the one-stopper - WLG is quite a spectacular place to fly into.

It was in full operation a few days back, so fear not :D An area at the rear close to the tarmac was blocked off, so I assume that's where the damage is.
