Having recently moved life to HP from US ---

Has HP ever done mileage or segment carryover ?

Sorry -- only did minimal searching before this post.

Thanks,

~Keith

Not as long as I have flown them. They did a status extension after 9.11, but that is all I can recall

Are you US elite? If so, you might want to ask for a status comp.

I asked and they gave Platinum.

Before I take a bashing, I've done just over 90k and 93 segements this year as a result of their generosity (more to come). For me (and I hope HP), it was a situation that worked out as intended - I promised them biz if they would help me out and a nice reciprocal relationship has developed.

I've had some really good experiences with HP - and out of Salt Lake there is just no comparison for mid-week trips -- Hmm .. Monday-Friday on Delta --- $1345. HP ? $338 - with an upgrade to boot. Phew !

Hope to contribute what I can as I get more familiar with the HP world.

Thanks !

. . . Has HP ever done mileage or segment carryover ? . . .

Could you explain a little more what you mean by this? What is it you want them to carryover?

In the US world, anything over a tier level was has been carried over toward tier status for the next year. This has been in effect since 2001.

For example - Chairman = 100,000 miles (actual) or 100 segments

If in the given earning year you acquire 138,000 miles (actual) and 82 segments, US would carry the 38,000 actual over into the next year to start you off (in effect, you would have already attained Sliver for the year following that).

Does that make sense ? It's left a lot of upper tier folks at US - I've only flown Euro on them 3 times this year but I have 178,000+ tier miles -- lots of carryover from last year - that will allow me to retain chairman level for next year while devoting all my domestic travel to HP.

Hoping that made sense,

~Keith

Makes sense

But as far as I know no other airline does that. UA did a one time promo like that for 1K's that flew 125K last yr - but that was all I knew about

Yes, it makes perfect sense, thank you for the explanation.

What a great benefit! I'm not aware of anything similar at HP, unfortunately. As I'm looking at 100K+ this year I truly wish they had such a program!

In the always present spirit of diversifying my FT portfolio, I'm flying others.

But - as I'm coming to grips with the concept of tier level AND amount of activity = upgrade causality ... I'm kind of inspired to stay with HP action.
