The Boeing Co. may be in line for a multibillion dollar 737 order from one its longtime customers, Lufthansa German Airlines, the flag carrier of Germany.
The article contains little information, just wishful thinking. Airbus is more likely to get a big order to replace the 737 fleet, as LH's single-aisle Airbuses (71 319s, 320s and 321s) are much newer, on average, than its 58 737s.

Yet as the article noted, LH is a longtime customer of Boeing.
Also, LH might want to "spread the lagresse" around a bit. As noted, they have a large single-aisle Airbus fleet already and might decide on 737-700s and 737-800s for shorter-range flights that the 733s and 735s already handle. While they could add more A319s and A320s, buy buying Boeing they keep relations with both of their suppliers as well as getting a product that fits their needs.
