InterContinental Hotels: Priority Club & Inter-Continental Ambassador - Montpelier, France Holiday InnView Full Version : Montpelier, France Holiday Inn Seachain Aug 26, 04, 2:55 pm i'm trying to source information on suitability of this one as a family hotel but am coming up short. anybody been there....? any good....? thanks! timo469 Aug 27, 04, 8:54 am I lived in Montpellier for the summer. The holiday inn is considered one of the nicer hotels in town. It is located in a great area, but it has been known to be overpriced. I would reccomend the sofitel if you can get a good rate, or if you are into boutique hotels go to le jardin des sens. It is very very classy, so not exactly a great hotel for kids. It is outside of the city center but has a pool, if you look it up on their website you will see it is one of the better hotels in the city; if the adults are going out to eat, it is a great 3 star restaurant, and their lunch menu is excellent and ONLY 50 euros, I say only cause dinner starts at 120 euros. If you have any questions on the city etc. let me know. Chhers Timo Seachain Aug 27, 04, 2:46 pm thanks timo! felis Aug 28, 04, 1:01 am I used this hotel one time, and, yes it is very expensive (more than 150 euros if I remind). I could however use my points to get a reward night. The hotel is very well located, close to the train station, to the Place de la Comedie, the only issue is that the street is very smal. If you have a car, that is not so nice. You can go anywhere walking or using the 'tramway'. The rooms are very nice, even big, which is surprising viewed from the street, the hotel was formerly not an Holiday Inn, but was brought, so except the soap, nothing is comparable to other Holiday Inn. The restaurant is outside and rather nice, cool in summer, and not so expensive versus what you have to eat, although it is not one of the best in town. IMO, if you can get a reward night, that is definitively one the best rewards in France. If you have to pay for it, I would try to find a better bargain. |
