Hi, I am newbie. So be kind. Thanks!
Hv made a search for priceline but came up nothing.
I am interested to find out if most people hv good experiences purchasing airlines tickets with great price thru their bidding system. And if the flight times are okay. I am hoping to get a cheap airfare to SIN this Dec and the system came up with 1 deal that has 1 stop. Not sure if I shld bid on it and what kinda price shld bid it for. Appreciate all the input I can get.
Sincerely,
Keflyer

Flights leave from 6 a.m. to midnight unless otherwise noted and are not a problem as long you don't need public transport at the earliest and latest hours.

Depending on where you are travelling from, you may be able to determine which carrier is being offered since Priceline does not mix & match carriers to my knowledge and over-rely upon certain airlines. ;)

You get no miles on such a ticket by the way. Also, there is a forum called Travel Bidding on FT that may have further information and is better area to post in for such matters. Betterbidding.com and Biddingfortravel.com may also have some information that is helpful.

If there's only one connection involved via hotwire or priceline, then you can pretty much figure out your likely airline.

Welcome to Flyertalk!

I'm going to move this thread to the Travel Bidding forum, because that's where the Priceline and Hotwire experts read things most and because that's where this topic will have a natural home (after all, it really isn't about miles and points which is the focus of MilesBuzz).

With the airlines losing money and slashing fares for competitive reasons, the airfare deals aren't what they used to be considering you have to give up flight times and connection lengths.(although the hotel deals still remain great)

It's important to remember that your Priceline bid does not include taxes and fees, which can be substantial, so remember to deduct them from your bid amount.

If you're flexible enough you may be able to get a deal and it doesn't hurt to try, but just make sure you know prices of booking direct and bid accordingly.

You may want to use the AIRFARE PRICE CHECKER (http://www.betterbidding.com/airfarechecker) tool i developed to get an overview of prices.

Agreed. Particularly for overseas flights.

Thanks everyone! I'll did some leg work and found that leaving from CLE, there is only one airline that flies non-stop to SIN. So only one stop requires at either LAX or EWR. Would it be reasonable to make bid of 800$? Am also considering UA thru an agent. Never flown UA before. Hv done some search on other threads but able to find out much. But did find a fountain of infor for travel agents. There is so much to learn.
