Anyone have any discount codes that will work when dropping at a different location (weekend rental)?

No surprise that there has been no response here. I cannot ever recall seeing a Hertz coupon of any kind (including the free nights you get from using them a lot) that has not had the restriction that "vehicle must be returned to the renting location." This restriction even applies in Florida, which has always been treated as one location for drop off purposes.

The Prestige Collection Special Offer (HPC1) does not have this requirement and can be used one-way. See here: http://www.hertz.com/special_07/prestige02c.jsp

About 2/3 of the way down in the T&C of the link you provided:

Standard rental conditions and return restrictions must be met.

This usually means vehicle must be returned to location where it was rented. I tried a one-way quote on a Lincoln LS from ORD-MDW and got the message "no rate qualifies". Removed the HPC1 RQ and got a base rate of $87.99.

If you look at the prestige collection page it clearly says:

"Special Hertz Services For Prestige Collection Renters

...

One-Way Rental Options -- To accommodate your travel plans, Prestige Collection vehicles can be rented at one Hertz Prestige Collection location and returned to another Hertz Prestige Collection location."

See here: http://www.hertz.com/byr/whyhertz/prestige.jsp

Where in the standard T&C is that you have to return a car at the same station you rented it? If this would be the case why they have one-way fees?

I was able to get a free weekend day coupon to work picking up at LAX and returning at SNA. It was a WN code. If you look in the WN forum, there is a thread with rapid rewards promo codes. I may be able to edit this post on Monday to give the one I used.

It's also possible that this worked simply because LAX-SNA is not considered a one way rental, but the base rates were higher than LAX-LAX.

The OP's question asked about discount codes on one-way rentals. I did not say anything about not being able to do a one-way rental. I said that the T & C of the HPC1 discount code link you provided stated "Standard rental conditions and return restrictions must be met" and that this usually means you have to return the vehicle to the location it was rented (when using this discount code). In the example I gave, I found that Hertz would indeed allow me to one-way a Lincoln LS from Chicago O'Hare to Chicago Midway (both Prestige locations) at a base rate of $87.99/day but would not let me do it with the HPC1 discount.

Again, I'm fairly certain Hertz would let you one-way cars between any Hertz location in the lower 48---they're just not going to let you do it with special RQ's and PC's.

Yes, I understood that the OP asked about one-way discount codes. What I meant was: I don't think that "Standard rental conditions and return restrictions" for Prestige Collection car means that you have to return the car at the same station.

I admit that I have not tried to rent one-way with the HPC1 code, maybe you're right and it does not work for one-way rentals. But the T&C for the HPC1 discount does not say anything about one-way rentals.
