I was booked on flight 5 today and was cxld after 4.5 hours. Weather in Chicago of course, and get this, the g/a says "we are also informed that ORD currently only has one operational runway so when we get our slot we'll be ready to board". Pax may have been ready to board, but I was on the phone with the plat elite line getting confirmed for flight 1 tomorrow morning.
One operational runway?? I don't know if it was weather related or not but it's absurd to think of the world's busiest (not sure if it still is or ATL but I'm using it for emphasis).
Oh also around 1.30 when we had a "green light" to go (but prior to any boarding announcement) three men dressed in suits looking quite grumpy boarded before everyone else. I would have thought FAM's would be not as conspicous, but perhaps that's the idea.
