Other Car Rental Programs/Partners (ie. Alamo, Enterprise, Sixt) - Think I can get both the HHonors and Addvantage deals from Alamo?

Hi, everyone! In my effort to maximize all my travel miles- and bonus-earning opportunities, I've been looking into what would be the best option for my upcoming two car rentals through Alamo. One is a 3-day rental and the other is a 4-day reservation; both are for mid-size cars that we booked directly through alamo.com since they honestly had great rates.

Though I can also get miles from these rentals into DL SkyMiles or UA Mileage Plus, it seems the best offers now are from Hilton HHonors and AA Advantage. The Hilton offer says: "Earn 250 HHonors bonus points whenever you rent from Alamo in conjunction with your qualifying stay at any HHonors hotel. Just present your Alamo car rental agreement or keys when you check-in at the hotel." The American offer states: "You'll receive up to 15% off retail rates with Alamo® when you rent any car type in the United States or Canada. Additionally, AAdvantage members earn double AAdvantage miles (100 miles per rental day) when you rent a midsize or larger car for 3-14 days in the U.S. or Canada now through 12/31/04. In order to receive your double miles from Alamo be sure to provide your AAdvantage Miles membership number at the rental counter upon arrival."

In this case, the AA offer seems best since we'd be getting 700 miles for our combined 7 days of car rental. But I could also get the HH points since one of our car rental periods includes a stay at a Hilton. My question is, could I get BOTH promos?

It seems to me from the language on the promos that the AA offer is handled by Alamo, since I have to give them my AAdvantage # when I pick up the car. But for Hilton, since I'd get the extra points at the hotel itself when I check in, only the hotel would handle it directly... meaning Alamo and AA would only know about one transaction, and Hilton about the other. I don't see anything that would make me think it's "wrong" to do both or that one would invalidate the other. Has anyone here ever benefitted from two offers for the same car rental? Thanks.

Where did you get the AA 15% off offer? Can you let us know the URL?

AA Promo (http://www.aa.com/apps/netSAAver/ViewPromotionsDetail.jhtml?repositoryId=11300757&repositoryName=PromotionContentRepository&itemDescriptor=PromotionContent)

Don't for get to also register for the AA MULTI promo (http://www.aa.com/content/AAdvantage/programDetails/termsAndConditions/multipleMiles_terms.jhtml) which doubles miles earned with a bunch of partners (ends 9/31).

You can get 4X miles using these two promos.

Yes. Ask for AA miles at ALAMO, ask for your HH bonus points at the hotel (simply tell them to put "Alamo" in the "CR" field when checking you in).

asyoulike, the link that coreynyc posted (thanks) is exactly where I saw it -- on the AA site. corey, I did not know about the double promo (MULTL) so many thanks for that! Registering for that prompted me to update all my stuff on AA and get an online password (I've neglected AA somewhat as my focused has been more on UA and DL lately).

And Eugene, thanks for answering as well -- I owe you another "thanks" for your suggestion on the Hilton promos (I'll post an update on that thread soon).

I tried the AA code and a bunch of other codes mentioned in the other
post (6T, TV, etc) and none of it works. :( But thanks anyway!

I think Alamo's website is having major issues. The other day, they did not recognize my login/password (I signed up again and got the same login).

Then I looked up an existing reservation, it is now being quoted at a much higher rate than when I booked it. I called Alamo, and the reservation is at the right price in their system.

Plus I am having issues getting any discount codes or coupons to work on new reservations.

I guess you should keep trying.
