Nothing to compare at all the current Jamaica Hilton is in the capital Kingston on the south east coast it far from the resorts ( which all generally all along the north coast) and the nearest beach is probably 25 miles away.
It is located in New Kingston and is geared toward business stayers, very few visitors have reason to venture into the city.

Not to mention that Kingston isn't the safest part of the island... I don't know much about Los Cabos, but I don't think I'd want to vacation in Kingston.

Not been to Los Cabos Hilton but the Kingston Hilton is truly awful.

I had the dubious pleasure of a 4 week stay there a couple of months back.

Kingston is very unsafe and I barely left the hotel. (There is very little to do/see in Kingston)

I think its very poor of Hilton to market this hotel with other Hilton Resorts under the tag line of 'Places u'd rather be'

Los Cabos can't possibly be worse than this hotel.

TJ -

In constant quest for points, staying at Hilton in Kingston on business the week of 9/20. While I know I should probably stay somewhere else, are there any rooms/floor in this Hilton that are particularly bad. Any tips would be useful. Thanks...

The Los Cabos Hilton is a very nice hotel on a pretty nice stretch of beach. (not easy to find in Cabo) Very safe. We had great service during a GLONP stay there last January and the accommodations were very comfortable. We had a sea-front view on one end of the hotel and could see both sunrises and sunsets. Main restaurant was very expensive but continental breakfast in the cafe was free and quite good and you could eat inside or out. Waiters several times let us go beyond the continental and add eggs, etc. and did not charge us extra even when we offered to pay. Nice bar. The hotel has a very open feel to it and most of the public spaces seem to have great views. Infinity pool is large and quite warm. Lots of sunny and shady places for lounging on very comfortable cotton-covered padded chaises. We had to wait a little upon arrival to check in but since the check-in desk was in an outside plaza and they insisted on bringing us very large margaritas while we were waiting it was hardly a burden. We'd go again in a NY minute.

I won't be rude but I will point out that if you do a search under "Cabo" (upper right corner of the hilton page), you will find lots of people who have been there and what their experiences were. Welcome to FT.

I know I could have done a seach, but I just had back surgery and I can't stand long, and I need to make a decision soon, so I was just hoping people would be helpful.

Hi Rivergirl. I agree with everything that upgrader said. I was there in January as well. Hotel is only a couple of years old. The staff said that in Feb-April you can see whales just off the property, which I find to be a special treat living here in the Midwest. Enjoy!
