We all here love flying US. If not, we wouldn't devote so much time learning the rules (often time better than the agents) or spending the money we do or connecting when we can take a nonstop or complaining about the limes or planning/attending Roachfest or a million other things we do on this board. I frankly am getting sick and tired of hearing all of the liquidity talk. We've beat this topic to death. Until something else ACTUALLY HAPPENS, why don't we try to make this board as useful and informative as it was this time last year. Just to get an answer to a question I post, I have to sift through sometimes 10+ threads of people speculating on the future of US. None of us can control what happens next. We can do our best to fly them as much as possible and give the employees all the support we can. We're just along for the ride, literally and figuratively. Let's see where we go and bring this board back to the the way it was a few months ago.

With all the doom and gloom talk going on this may not be a bad idea. Let’s all try to limit the speculation or the spread rumors. However, if someone has any factual information, please post it!

KREEFT,
You just made a new friend. I too am sick of the people on here who have so much negative talk. People have been predicting the death of US Airways for many years now.
I applaud you on what you have said. ^
Let the kids go back and cry to mom and dad.
Now let's get back to our favorite airline and talk about more positive things.

I also agree that this board hasn't been very pleasant the past few days with all the negative stuff. I did my part by staying positive with the Washington Post reporter.

I echo the sentiments and am glad that I've found a positive space somewhere on this board. I booked five trips today on US and I've committed to praying for the survival of the airline and the continued employment of its workforce. Besides that, I'm glad to be in the company of friends that have something positive and insightful to say.

. . . . Until something else ACTUALLY HAPPENS, why don't we try to make this board as useful and informative as it was this time last year. . . .
I too like US and I want US to succeed. I prefer to remain circumspect and optimistic ^ .
I could not agree more about the dearth of negativism and nay-saying which has come to occupy many discussions in this group. It's OK that some folks see a glass which is half full, while others see a glass half empty, but it's those FTers who want to smash the glass who need to pause and think twice before hitting the send button.
Thanks for your post.

I would encourage people to be careful here. Much of what has been discussed has to do with public statements issued by the Executive Chairman of the company, and other senior execs. This has been supplemented by a report from the accounting firm representing the pilot union, who did their evaluation with the cooperation of the company. Lastly, the news reports and analyses discussed here were primarily based on things written in the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, and Washington Post, not the Pennysaver. One of the purposes of this board is to help us better utilize, and protect our hard earned acrued mileage. In that context, we need to be aware of the risks involved. Forewarned is forearmed. However much we'd all like to believe in the Easter Bunny, it will serve no useful purpose to turn this board into a goodtime cheerleader. Negative posts are not going to sink the place. Poor strategic decision making will do that, just fine.

Well said Deelmakur: What others are requesting on this post is censorship pure and simple. I admire those who wish to be supportive of their airline, but to request on a public message board that posts that are unappealing to you be "consolidated" is pure manipulation. If you dont like the title of a thread, just don't read it. But to suggest that the thread be hidden in another thread because you dont like seeing it is anti-democratic.

Mmmmm . . . not entirely. I've seen many posts entitled "What happens to PHL" or "What happens to CLT if US goes under" and other of the like. Also, frequent posts involve questions on whether to burn mileage, book tix, etc, so actually, many negative posts origniate from the, as you say, "pennysaver."
I personally love US and agree with everyone else and want to see US survive this difficult time, but seriously- this IS a public forum, everyone has the right to post what they see relevent to this particular board and each particular thread. In all honesty, I too would like to see the number of negative posts drop a little. But I think I'm gonna take SWA's side on this one (for once ;) ) and agree that if you don't like the title of a post, you can choose not to read it.

I agree that censorship or enforced consolidation is not a good solution, but the never-ending stream of substantially identical postings is tiresome.
I would like to point out that this board is neither "public" nor "democratic." But I think it thrives on free exchange, nor matter how annoying it may sometimes be.

Too many people asking the SAME questions over and over again. Heck put it up there as a sticky or something, but to have two or more new WHINEY threads a day about whether my ticket will be any good if US goes under, yadda , yadda yadda.
