Couple questions from a newbe, lowly platinum...
I am going to Seattle to celebrate my wife's b-day...Hyatt Regency Downtown is sold out, so we are going to Bellvue Hyatt...We will be there Friday to Monday...I will be paying for Friday night, using a FFN for Sat Night and Points for Sunday night...
If I upgrade to a suite Friday, anybody know if they will make me move rooms for Sat and Sun? Will they just take more points from my account and let me stay?
Any help would be appreciated...

Have you checked with the hotel yet, and are you paying an ‘eligible rate’ to use points to upgrade to a suite. Normally you have to being paying rack rate in order to upgrade with points.
If they let you upgrade for Friday, I would be very surprised if they made you move. That hotel has plenty of suites, and they are normally very good about upgrading people into them. The suites are a nice size and many have nice views, but they are somewhat worn.
Sorry you could not get into the Grand Hyatt, it is much nicer.

Best to make the reservations separately?
Book the pay night...then later book the FFN and points night?

This doesn't relate to that specific property but whenever I've "mixed and matched", hoping to keep the same room for the entire stay, I've been disappointed.
Most recently in Tahoe I booked 2 nights using points in a Regency club room, plus a paid night in a regular room. I was hoping to be able to keep the RC room on my paid night without using a Platinum extras cert, but no such luck!

Did they actually make you change rooms?
