Took my first flights last week and today I received letter and guest silver card.
Letter says I'll obtain silver, gold or platinum status based on the number of segments/miles flown by November 18th. The catch is I'll get status till Feb05. What gives ? I thought the whole idea behind the challenge was helping new frequent flyers obtain status when they start late in the year. This way it is almost worthless. I can't fly 25k in a little more than 4 months and so won't be able to make elite for 2005. On the other hand, if I had started flying HP in January, I would have got immediate status with the challenge and would have easily made the necessary miles for next year.
Can I ask for a new challenge starting March 05 ?
