I'm sitting around, obsessing about getting screwed on upgrades, and suddenly, it all comes to me, Baldanza restricts the upgrades, but every time Bronner opens his mouth, he cleans out the cabin. I can see it now. The MBA's in revenue mangement are working on the new algorithm. For example, an A321 has 27 first class seats, but Baldanza restricts (by convincing the guys who run the shop he can really sell those seats) 24 of them, Then Bronner speaks, and half the cabin books on Northwest. Lakefield then issues a clarification. Here's the problem to solve. If Baldanza restricts 24 seats, how many come back when Bronner says he's going to move the airline, and everybody cancels. When Lakefield issues the denial, does that add seats (they believe him), or subtract them (they don't believe him). What an exciting time for those kids. Stay tuned.

Sounds like a problem I should give to my College Algebra class this week. Better yet, let the business majors tackle it in my Business Stat Class that I do as a favor to their dept. I think those kids could answer it better than the MBAs could.

CLT-LGW had every seat filled on Friday the 20th. Likewise returning LGW-PIT on the return Sunday (no I didnt do that on purpose, LGW-CLT cancelled on Sunday). No idea when they are filling the front cabin though. Although on LGW-PIT I made it up front even after being switched that morning. There were definately people at the gate that didnt however. Although with CLT cancelling that isnt surprising. On the way over on Friday I couldnt get row 1 so there were a few ahead of me in the queue. On the way back I was confirmed in 1 before the cancellation.
