If US were to be liquidated I presume segments of their business like the Shuttle would be sold to the highest bidder. Considering the desperate times for all legacy carriers-who would be in a position to buy Shuttle? Who would want it (obviously not Delta considering their shuttle)?

"Assets in Liquidation" is a bit of a scary topic title (guaranteed to startle the heck someone flying out in 12 days to Europe) (Particularly when it's next to something like "UsAir - We Hardly Flew Ye.")

Whew.

Continental has expressed interest in the shuttle in the past. It would probably be hard to get financing as Continental is highly leveraged, but perhaps they can get financing if they hand over an equity interest. I have actually heard rumors that Airtran is interested in the Shuttle.
