The old "Blue Nile" - Sudan Airway's Boeing 707 is still pulling passengers out of Khartoum. I can't imagine where this beautiful bird is flying to anymore. I heard this lady take off yesterday and it almost blew my ears off. I think this plane has been in service for over 30 years but I have not seen it for a while until yesterday.

Actually, compared to some of the other aircraft at Khartoum, the "Blue Nile" is relatively new. Especially recently where NGO's have hired all sorts of antique Russian cargo planes to deliver goods into and out of Khartoum.

If anyone gets a chance to stop by Khartoum airport, it is a real treat to look at the aircraft on the tarmac. Memories are alive here. Everything from An-24s to Fokker F27s to Illyushin's. ^
