I've been a Gold Club member for a number of years (at no charge, due to corporate contract). After walking for what seemed like forever at MSP to spot 600 and something, I am curious as to what it takes to get to the President's Circle, with the close in cars (and better service?)

Is it based on the number of rentals? Is it invite or by application? Any cost? Any advantage besides close in cars?

Information or experiences would be appreciated.

thanks,
Alan

Though not officially posted anywhere (other than a search on this forum), some people, including myself, have earned President's Circle by using the magic dollar. Most people report than $7000 per year in rentals is the magic number.

So, 40 rentals or $7000. Benefits are worth it, upgrade (sometimes double-upgrades), close parking and in some locations, they meet you with the car.

If you are close to the 40 or $7000 near the end of the year......time to do a "rental run" or two......do a search.

See ya in the skies!!!

Interesting... As a UK member, President's Circle is apparently available to me after 30 rentals, rather than 40 (and 5* after 10).

Interesting! In 2001, I spent nearly $10,000 on Hertz rentals. Never got past 5-Star, though. Perhaps this is something that Hertz instituted since then, though?

Hertz does not benchmark dollars spent for PC status. The only benchmark is 40 rentals. As stated many times previous on these boards, rentals can either be 1 day rental (x 40) or 40 multiday rentals or a combination of both.

Two years ago I called the Hertz Gold Center and asked about President's club status since I had 20 plus 12 day rentals. After being told "no" by the agent I asked to talk to a supervisor. The supervisor acknowledged the volume of rentals and said she would send it to President's Club for evaluation. Next time I rented I was President's Club and two years later I still am, although I only had about 100 rental days last year. Patience and Courtesy may get you there!

They just gave me 5 Star for having 10 rentals.

Thats 10 rentals at 5 days each.

I should have turned the car in everyday and opened a new contract, I would be presidents by now???

How do they figure days into the formula?

They don't. That is why it is better to do seven one-day rentals then a weekly rental.

Last year I found myself mysteriously upgraded to President's Circle - even though my volume seemed lower than the 40 rentals. (And I don't think I had anywhere near $7000 in volume) However, since then I've only had a few rentals, so I was demoted back down to five star... (Comp only lasted part of a year.)
