Hilton HHonors - Award stay, do not qualify for breakfast?

I just booked an award stay with a Hilton property, a room with king sized bed can not be guaranteed, and was also told it does not qualify for breakfast. According to "Gold VIP Membership" benefits, I either get an upgraded room or breakfast coupons, and no where does it say award stays do not qualify. Should I print the page of "Gold VIP Membership" benefits and bring it along?

You should be treated the same on an award stay as on a paid stay. Every HH elite should carry an copy of the entire HH T&C at all times.

Thank you for the feedback. I am a repeat customer at this property. I hope that helps! ^ This raises another question, how can I obtain the email address for a particular property so I can email them ahead of my stay and request for a room upgrade and breakfast coupons.

MisterNice is indeed correct, your status-based benefits apply no matter whether revenue or award stay. But keep in mind that your Gold benefits at Hiltons outside of the US and Canada differ from those in the US. Also, make sure you have a recent printout, as HH seems to change the language from time to time.

At least three options:
(a) call the property and ask them;
(b) google it;
(c) ask other FT'ers. ;)

As a multi-year HH Diamond I believe I am entitled to an upgrade "if available" at time of check-in and/or continental breakfast. I was not aware I should email/call/fax/write the hotel to insure or request this. It does not mention doing so in the HH T&C. Am I doing something wrong?

is in the reservation. No need to email/fax/call asking for an upgrade/breakfast. Of course, some hotels don't follow the rules. Therefore, bring the copy of the rules, as suggested.

I did not see anywhere in the rules that an award stay is treated just like a paid stay. Will the property deny the breakfast or upgrades based on that?

Lemmee see, you have had 3-4 Ft-ers state you get treated equally and you have had zero FT-ers state otherwise. Exactly how much proof do you require?
I suggest you call Hilton Customer Service and see what they say. Maybe they will put it in writing for you. You can also do a search on this in the HH foreum or whatever.
