I've stayed at this property a lot and every time I've been upgraded to a suite in the old tower. The room is a two room suite and very nice. I've stayed in the new tower and I like the older one because your not facing the freeway if your unlucky to get the south side.
There are a lot of places to eat and like was said before, if you are hungry, just go across the street to Clam Jumper, order the dinner portion of Chicken Fried Steak and you will take some home with you.

I just stayed at the Hilton San Bernardino. I made the reservation via the Diamond #, so not sure if it's on the web. I usually book via the website but was in an airport when my plans changed.
The hotel is undergoing renovation as it's an older Hilton but it was nice. I got upgraded to a suite, very nice for a $99/night rate. The staff was very friendly. The restaurant food was 'eh', but there are sevearl great restaurants in the area, some walking distance, so that helps.

Just completed a stay at this property. Upon check-in, I had to ask for Gold VIP breakfast coupons and was not offered any other gifts. On the second day of my stay, I found two bottles of water in my room, but I don't know if they were meant to be complementary or not. Requested a refrigerator and was told they were $10 a day; it was delivered about 40 minutes after requesting it, but it didn't appear on my bill at check out.
The hotel seemed to be somewhat occupied based on the cars in the parking lot and I didn't receive a suite upgrade. I requested a non-smoking one king bed but was given a top floor non-smoking room with two doubles instead. The mattresses were both too soft for me as were the pillows so I didn't get a good night's sleep the whole time I was there. I've found the bedding in Sheraton Suites to be far superior.
The shower was good and otherwise the room was in good shape. Local phone calls were 75 cents plus 10 cents a minute after 30 minutes. There was a high speed internet connection box, but no LAN cables in the room.
The first morning I tried to use the breakfast buffet coupon when the restaurant opened at 6:30 AM. I had to be at March Air Reserve Base for an 8:00 AM meeting so I was hoping to pick up some food to go. All they had was fruits, the croissants and other goods were not ready yet. I needed to leave before the restaurant opened on check out day so I bought some croissants the night before from the coffee shop for $1.65 each. They would only honor my brekfast buffet coupon in the morning.
Because my business travel takes me to this area and there aren't too many Hilton family properties to choose from in the Inland Empire area, I guess I'll reluctantly plan on staying here again. My favorite HHonors property in the SoCal region from a best value for the money perspective is the Embassy Suites South at LAX in El Segundo and Iwish they ahd a property like that around San Bernardino or Fontana.
There are lots of restaurants in the vicinity and it's conveniently located clsoe to I-10 and I-215. My room faced north so I didn't get any highway noise.

If you have to stay in this area and continue to go to March ARB, then I think you would be better off staying at the properties in Temecula. I had to work at March a few weeks ago and I stayed at the HI in Temecula. It is a brand new property and has great rates, very little traffic getting to March (you are going against the traffic, not with it when driving from the Hilton) and you will be very happy with the area.
Try it out next time and let us know what you think.

I staid there last nite as well! I went to breakfast at 6:45. You must have missed the Flyertalk-tag I got from San Diego 1K, that I had on my bag.
While I got my breakfast coupon (full buffet) without asking, the room was noisy, next to the elevator, without bottled water or a newspaper in the morning, and with two broken lamps, no regular coffee in the room (only decaf) and a shower head mounted way to low for a tall guy like me. I was not very happy. Plus, the laundry took 2 hours longer than promised.
Hi-Speed was 10 bucks.
Definitely on of the lesser Hiltons out there.

I know how you feel...I stay at this property when I'm in the area myself and I love/hate it. What keeps me going back is the location and the gym. They have a nice gym plus it has good bottled water. It is easy on/easy off freeway and a good sampling of restaurants nearby. I have never had a problem with parking in their lot. I like that they let me "trade in" their breakfast coupon for a nice hot latte and fruit cup to go! Not a lot of Hiltons let you do that. Their pastries are RIDICULOUSLY cheap....HUGE chocolate covered strawberries for $1.00 a piece...other pastries are inexpensive as well.
What I don't like are the rooms...none of them has ever impressed me. The service is "just okay." $10 a night for DSL (won't pay it). The only way you get a free drink coupon is if you HAPPEN to be on the 7th floor....doesn't matter if you are diamond or not...weird rule. It happened to me once, never again.
I stayed at the new Hampton in Colton....awful Hampton--went back to Hilton San Bernardino. If not for the gym, I probably wouldn't return.
