Hi,
I am going to be staying at Double Tree Hotel in Florida using my Hilton Honors Points. I am Hilton Gold.
What benefits can I expect from them ?. Can I expect Free Continental Breakfast and Free Upgrade of the Room from them ?.
Thanks.

Upgraded Accommodations/Amenities: HHonors Gold VIP members are offered upgraded accommodations or amenities at Hilton Family hotels. The type of upgraded accommodation or amenity varies by type of hotel, as follows:
At US Hilton hotels, and at Conrad and Doubletree hotels with Towers or Executive Levels, Gold VIPs will be provided with a guest room on the Towers or Executive Level floor, whenever possible. In cases when Towers or Executive Level accommodations have been fully booked, Gold VIP members will be offered either (1) the use of the Towers or Executive Level lounge, including complimentary continental breakfast each morning for the member and one additional person or (2) personalized certificates for each day of the stay for the member and one additional person valid for complimentary continental breakfast in the hotel coffee shop or all-purpose restaurant. At hotels without a Towers or Executive Level, Gold VIP members will be offered complimentary continental breakfast each morning for the member and one additional person. And when in hotels or when paying a rate where a complimentary breakfast is a benefit for all guests, Gold VIPs will be offered a special amenity as an expression of our appreciation.

I've been gold for a few years and find DT pretty much the same as hilton - always some kind of breakfast (sometimes you have to ask for your coupon) and sometimes an upgrade (got a nice suite just last week at the DT LAX). Like benefits at the other HHonors chains, it often seems to depend from property to property.
Perhaps they should include an extra cookie at check-in for Golds and two extra cookies for Diamond...

Yikes! There was a thread a while back about how much "bad stuff" (ie saturated fat) was in these cookies.

I (HHonors Gold) recently stayed at the Doubletree Tampa Westshore Airport hotel on West Cypress, and was offered a choice of welcome amenities that included 500 HHonors points, something else, or a tin of cookies. I took the cookies, of course.
I don't know if this was an error (I noted that I was Gold, not Diamond) or if this property is being extra nice to Golds as well. In any event, it was very kind of them, and I certainly enjoyed my stay.

I was at the DT Boston, and asked about the Tin of cookies. They said they had no clue what I was talking about.
Stayed at the Doubletree in Tulsa last week, and even though I've been bumped back to Silver, I received the Gold level treatment -a premium room on the top floor (restricted elevator access) and use of the executive lounge which included a light continental breakfast, but no happy hour in the PM.
As a confirmed "big breakfast" eater, I'd have been happier with the option that gave me a discount coupon for a free continental or reduced price full breakfast in the dining room.
I'm guessing that my superior treatment may have been due to my previous stays, or to the "free upgrade to Gold" promotion that HH said they would take away if they found out I was not actually eligible for it. Maybe it's just those friendly Tulsa folk! :)
I'm always happy to visit.

Stayed at the DT in Washington, DC ... it's all suites, so no real room upgrade. I had to ask for a breakfast coupon... there's no restaurant, but they gave me a free cont. bkfast sent to my room.
Didn't ask for a tin of cookies ... damn! Makes me want to go for diamond this year.

As a gold, on a Saturday night stay I was upgraded to the club floor. The lounge was open and nicely stocked.
