Any comments on the Hotel @ MIT in Cambridge, MA? My husband and the guys are going to Fenway for a game in two weeks and I just reserved a few rooms at this this hotel. Appears to be only 2 miles from the park. Any thoughts, comments, etc?
Thanks.

WONDERFUL!
I stayed there for 13 weeks for business during the first half of this year. Some of the things I loved about the hotel were:
- Extremely friendly staff who take the effort to remember your name
- Free hi-speed wireless and ethernet internet throughout the entire hotel
- Near the Red Line (5 min. walk from Central Square), the best subway in the city which will take you right into downtown Boston
- Complimentary black car service to anywhere between Harvard Square and the river (won't go all the way to the game)
- Excellent food, drinks, and atmosphere at Sidney's bar and grill (Ken is the usual bartender there, great guy)
- Comfortable rooms, still new-looking since the hotel was built in 1999 (I think), though the tech theme is little overdone
- Free MIT magazines in room, paper at door, and additional variety of complimentary papers available in the lobby
- Full recognition of Hilton HHonors (including room upgrades, though no executive floor) even at negotiated corporate rates
I strongly recommend Hotel@MIT for business stays since thy provide every need imaginable for a business traveler. I think it can also be an excellent location for vacations and short visits.

I definitely have to agree with Dan's opinion of Hotel @ MIT. Although, I must admit to not spending nearly as many nights there.
The only thing I would like to add is how well maintained the property is. My first thought upon entering the lobby was how clean everything looked. Definitely a good sign when checking into a Hotel.

If you stay there for 13 weeks, they better remember your name! :D

I have stayed in hotels Monday to Thursday for 6 months, and they still won't remember me. They always ask for my ID at check-in.

I love the Hotel@MIT. Although it's not close to the T stop, it was only a breeze of a walk from Central and the ice cream shop across the street is to die for.
As a HH Gold, I was placed on the second to top floor with a wonderful view of the Boston skyline. Service was great as the bartender even microwaved my frozen food product I purchased from the Star Market next store (connected to the hotel) and provided me a fork and knife (without hestitating once). Got two bottles of water upon arrival and of course, free high speed, which is a big plus.
We'd def. stay here again and we've got a couple more stays booked for next year. Compared to the HH properties in Boston, I'd say this one, even though in Cambridge, is by far the best.

From all the other posts, it sounds like this is a great hotel. But if your reason for picking it is for proximity to Fenway Park, you might want to consider the back bay hilton which at least is on the Green line for easier access to Fenway Park.

Great room, great view. Stayed there a week last month. Got upgraded to a room with 'upgraded amenities" basically just AVEDA bath products and a nice office chair.

Stayed there 2 days last month - I loved it
As a diamond got free bkfst - which was very good. Upgraded to some nice room.
And that black car service is unreal --- I was working at MIT and driver spent all the time necessary to figure out where that weird building was ^
They will come pick you up when you call also !!!!

That reminds me, I received free breakfast as Gold as well, though the hot food is a few bucks extra (in fact I became Gold during my stay and the night manager gladly gave me some from free breakfast coupons the week before I was upgraded).
Yep, the car does indeed do pickups. I was working at the new funky-looking Genzyme building near "that weird building" at MIT and they would gladly pick me up. The only problem was in the mornings. I ended up getting so used to the car service that I would get a little disappointed on those mornings that it was unavailable (it's fist come first serve, no privileges for Gold or Diamond members). BTW, don't forget to tip. It is expected.
For the record, I stayed at Hotel@MIT three nights a week for 13 weeks in January, February and later, April, so not straight through. Before I was Gold, I told them my girlfriend was coming into town for one weekend and they gladly upgraded my room without hesitating. While I was there for awhile, they knew my name after only one week.
When staying at Hotel@MIT, ask for a room with a view of Copley Square and the Prudential building. Not all rooms upgraded rooms have a great view.
