I just niticed with my last MCI statement. My $2.95 monthly fee for the plan is now $4.95. I also was recieving a $1. per month discount because I had e-statements with auto pay. That too was eliminated in my last few statements. I e-mailed MCI customer service and recieved a reply. They raised the monthly fee 2 bucks, nothing I can do there. Some how I lost the $1 discount, they'll put it back into my account and issue me a credit. Some how I don't think I'm an isolated case. If you have MCI with NW, check your statements! Buyer beware!

I coudn't agree with you more. This plan turned into a disaster: MCI suspended my phone line while I was overseas and said they hadn't been paid. In fact they had been paid because I had registered for the automatic credit card payment precisely because I travel. I had to spend hours on the phone with everyone from CSRs to the "highest level of support" and send multiple faxes, just to pay out a second time and finally have my phone unlocked - after 4 days. Needless to say, I am switching providers.
Buyer beware is too mild a statement for MCI/NW.

I was going through my NW FF account recently and noted that I'm getting the month useage (minimum) mileage credits, but have never gotten any of the sign up bonuses. I emailed NW, but they say I have to contact MCI for this. Anyone else have the same problems? I had signed up almost a year ago!

I had the exact same experience with MCI. I signed up for auto payments as well, same thing. Be careful!

How about some with American Miles though?

Since AT&T has opted out of mileage programs, I know of no phone company that offers AA miles for wire based long distance service. But I would expect AA to try to sell its miles to one of the other two majors, so lets check back regularly with the AA website to see what they are offering.

Just as I started the 6-7 months swap of my LG provider, this happens. :)

I am sure I am not the only one that wishes they had been doing this for years

They have been offering miles for years, up to 20,000 in the beginning. But they learned their lesson.

Phone offers were my initial entry into this miles addiction.

Ike Benn......read this FlyerTalk thread.

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=360097&highlight=MCI

If you're open to MCI, TMobile, Nextel and/or EarthLink accounts, you can earn 60,000 WorldPerks miles for signing up for 3 of them before 2004 ends. For some of those companies, you can even sign up for 3 accounts with one company and get the miles. 60,000 will get you a free ticket to Europe with some miles remaining.

Read the FT thread then, if you think you might want to play the Mileage Connection game, go to http://www.nwa.com/offers/mileageconnection . Register for the promo and then the partners. (read all the rules of course....I've been burned in the past but it was my error. :( )

I have 30,000 miles already and if I sign up for one more communication program through NW, I get 60,000 WP miles. Alright!!! :D Hope it works for you too Ike.

So for signing up for three MCI LD acounts and pay $4.95 per month for 10 months one can earn 60k for about $150. Not bad

Is signing up for 3 MCI LD accounts possible if you only have one phone line? I would think you would need 3 phone lines to make that happen and if that is the case, it would be costly for me to add to more lines. I'll stick with my current plan since I already am 66% of the way there.

On the website, they state "Multiple activations from Nextel, EarthLink or T-Mobile are eligible for the Northwest Bonus Miles." By excluding MCI, I'm concerned that multiple MCI sign-ups will not qualify.
