America West FlightFund (Discontinued Program) - how do I gain max miles when signing up to become AW Freq Flier???

Just wondering wht I can do to gain max. mileage as I would like to become a AW Ffreq Flier.

Any email sign up bonuses?
Any Online res Bonuses (I need to purchase at least 4 RT cont'l US to start with)
ANy other things I can do to gain max mileage as I am not familiar with AW and havent flown them for 20+years.

Most travel will be to Vegas, and west coast (so CA) from Pittsburgh.
