Hi all
I just checked my wife and I's Lanpass (Lanchile) accounts. In previous years we received 1000 free kilometres on our birthdays but in the year 2000 we did not. We did however receive the usual 1000 points at christmas.
Have Lanpass discontinued the birthday freebie? Have other people received their bonus this year?
cheers Peter

I didn't get any a birthday bonus from LP this year either... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif
But I did receive a card from ACES with a little moving airplane thereon...and 100 miles were credited to my ACES account as a
birthday bonus... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/cool.gif
Also, the Hilton Colon Quito sent me a card; they must have acquired my birth date from my passport on check-in, while I was on the LP run.
IMHO, ACES is a pure "class act" operation - a real refreshing experience!
Any FTer headed "their way" - should seriously consider the services of this delightful little carrier.
Four thumbs up, ACES!

Southwest Airlines has sent me a birthday card for as long as I have been a Rapid Rewards member. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
No enclosure in recent years, although I believe there was years ago, during the early 90s. Something along the lines of a $25 Gift Certificate valid toward a flight.

I fly Lan Chile to Falkland Islands in 2 weeks. Am I better putting miles into an AA acccount, (which I hardly ever access?) or Lan Chile if they seem to add freebies like this each year?

SQ sends their PPS members a birthday card. Nice, but no mileage bonus.

A few years ago, checking in at the CX counter at HKG a day before my birthday, I was told "Happy Birthday, Mr. XX, I'll put your luggage in First Class!"
However, I had to stay in BC. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/cool.gif

Qantas sends me a birthday present each year. An account for about $40 or whatever for annual renewal of my QF FF scheme. ANY other major change for this, worldwide? Nuts

What is the connection between spending time in Chile and sticking with AA?
FWIW, I've spent *lots* of time in Chile. Whether you choose AA or LA depends on lots of things. For example, if you fly C class often, LA gives you a 50% mileage bonues, vs 25% for AA.
BTW, I did get my birthday bonus this year.
