American Express Membership Rewards - How to Use MR Points To Chile at Christmas?

My cousin wants to go from New York to Chile over the Christmas period in Business or First. He has hundreds of thousands of AMEX points, but says there are blackout dates for LAN during that time. I was just looking through the various MR partners for other options (my idea was to find a suitable partner that does 1 to 1 transfers and then book it through that program) but could find nothing suitable. It doesn't have to be LAN down to Chile but I was hoping to find an airline that had a good premium product.

Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions? Thanks very much for your help.

Try the little known "Your Reward" program. They are AMEX travel agents (no blackouts, etc.) and will book any airline (not just MR partners). They propose the travel arrangements and price the trip for you in MR points.

Earlier this summer, an August flight on AA from BOS to Manchester England was quoted for 65000 points and $75 to AMEX to join "Your Reward." Award travel in the summer to England is tough to come by - it seemed like a good deal to me.

You can contact them by calling an MR rep - they'll transfer you. There is very little useful info on this program on the AMEX website. Call to see what they come up with.
